Haptica Inc. is an independent company headquartered in Dublin, Ireland and with a U.S. base in Boston MA. Haptica develops needs-based, integrated simulation solutions for laparoscopic and other surgical procedures. Its simulation solutions focus on accelerating uptake of new devices, instruments and procedures, increasing surgical proficiency and, ultimately, delivering increased patient safety. As well as developing corporate solutions, Haptica's ProMIS™ surgical simulator is used in over 55 surgical skills centers globally.  Fiona Slevin
Chief Executive Officer
Fiona is a founder of Haptica and is responsible for marketing and commercialization of products and technologies. Prior to founding Haptica, Fiona was Director of Learning & Development at Diageo Plc, London, with responsibility for developing the company's strategic, leadership and e-business capabilities. At UDV, she won the Managing Director's Award for her work on Performance Management.
Fiona has also worked at Goldman Sachs, based in NYC & London and spent five years in change management consultancy. She has worked with three start-ups, two of which were in computer-assisted learning and simulation.
 Bernard Collins
Chairman and non-executive director
A highly-experienced business person, with 30 years international general management and multi-functional experience, Bernard's career spans start-ups, rationalizations and turnarounds, LBOs and IPOs, and disposals in both large and small businesses. He has particular experience in the Medical Device/Health Care Sectors.  
Most recently, Bernard was Vice President of International Operations and Director of International Board at Boston Scientific Corporation.  He is currently a non Executive Director of IDA Ireland Ltd, non Executive Director of Boston Scientific International, non Executive Director of and Consultant to Aerogen Inc., U.S.A (NASDAQ AEGN).
 Derek Young
Director of Surgical Solutions
Derek has a track record in inventing new medical devices and specializes in laparoscopic assisted and general surgery. He has worked alongside surgeons for over ten years, developing innovative approaches to hand-assisted surgery and laparoscopic surgery. His innovative products have been licensed to major industry players and are currently being used by surgeons across the globe.
In addition to his strong surgical experience, Derek has a track record in implementing quality systems and managing teams to deliver innovative, customer-centered products that meet customer, quality and regulatory requirements.  
Before joining Haptica, worked with Advanced Surgical Concepts Ltd and Medtech Ltd, both medical device development and manufacturing companies.
 Gerard Lacey, PhD
Co-founder and Director
Gerard is a founder of Haptica.  Prior to that he was a lecturer in Computer Science and leader of the Computer Vision and Robotics group in Trinity College Dublin, where he also gained his PhD.  He has managed large international research projects involving 17 different partners. His research has spanned industrial automation, robotics, computer vision and human computer interaction.  Gerard spent time as a Visiting Researcher in MIT, Boston (1999) and at Edinburgh University (1995).  He has over 30 publications in international conferences and journals. Gerard is currently working out of Trinity College Dublin.
