Learning Management System
The ProMIS™ Surgical Simulator provides a range of Modules for training surgeons in laparosopic skills and procedures.
Users practice on physical Tasks and on Virtual Reality Tasks - or on a combination of both. User performance is tracked, measured and stored for immediate and later review.
The Learning Management System (LMS) enables two or more ProMIS simulators to be networked and for user and group records to be accessed remotely.
Learning Management System
ProMIS users have their own personal, password-protected login id, and may be grouped with other specific users to provide a `Group' record.
Metrics
Once a user completes a task in ProMIS, they are shown their performance results: metrics for the task are presented, e.g. time taken, instrument path length, economy of movement and task-specific errors; a video is also recorded of their performance and may be played back. A user can view their own performance records at any time in ProMIS. Records for all users and Groups may be viewed in a separate Learning Management System by a tutor or administrator.

LMS: key features
The LMS is set up as a wireless Local Area Network (LAN). It is accessible only to an appointed tutor or administrator and requires a username and password.
All data is stored on a separate `server' system, enabling access from any computer that is linked into the network.
A tutor may therefore review all user records from the computer in their office.
Because each simulator is networked, a user may login to any simulator and access all their previous records - regardless of which simulator they may have used for past practice.
Once logged in to the LMS, a tutor/administrator may:
View records
Set up a specific `query' or `report', e.g. by user, by group, within certain time parameters, for specific Modules, etc.
Play back video records
Export data to an Excel spreadsheet
Archive old records
Create or edit users and Groups
